When We’re Weak, We’re Strong
Sonship Rights Walking with God Greenkill Conference Center Chatten, Bob 06/26/2019 06/26/2019
Jesus Christ is our example in every category in how to walk with God. Yet Jesus Christ was not able to do it all on his own. There’s no true strength, ability or sufficiency unless we are relying on God’s great strength, ability and sufficiency. This teaching looks at how Jesus Christ was strong and walked in mighty power due to the spirit that enabled him. It also looks at some things that the Bible says won’t help us to be strong. When we accept that we are weak, we are able to be truly strong by allowing His strength to rest in us. Jesus Christ already won the victory for us in the spiritual battle; all we need to do is stand in that victory and claim what’s ours. We have the God-given ability, the power on the inside, but now we need to manifest it. We have to decide to be strong in it. We have the nine manifestations and our power of attorney to use Christ’s name. It is the Christ in us that equips us to carry out our calling. Let’s be people who are ready for everything and equal to anything because we are strong in the Lord and the power of His might. We can run towards the challenge, eager to take it on, because we know the battle is the Lord’s, and He has already made us victorious. Let’s be strong in the Lord because we walk in all the greatness of the victory in Christ and the holy spirit in us.
Being Strong in Believing
Being Strong in Believing Believing Old Testament Examples Greenkill Conference Center Cinardo, Nick Carr, Jerry 06/25/2019 06/25/2019
This teaching looks at David’s attitude toward God and His Word. It looks in detail at the record of David and Goliath to understand the impact believing God’s Word can have in our lives. David trusted in God more than the five senses, and he did not allow anyone to defy the armies of the living God. We can also have this attitude of trusting God. If you can make the choice in your mind to believe God in the circumstances of your life, then you will be more than a conqueror in every situation. God provides a great opportunity to have a life that is unfathomably abundant. We just want to get to the place where we can believe God a little bit more each day. Accept the greatness of the Word, God’s grace, and God’s mercy in order to endure and overcome. Wait on God and He will strengthen your heart. There are going to be challenges when we address those things which we are afraid of in this life; we have to decide whether to fight and claim God’s Word or back down. There is nothing overwhelming for God. Even if we are in an uncomfortable or intimidating situation, God is going to be our sufficiency, strength, salvation, deliverer, and provider. We should not measure our lives by what the world says we should think. The Word of God has an answer for everything that pertains to life and godliness. We stand for God and have God in Christ in us. We can stand in the gap because we represent a great reality.
Our Attitude Towards God’s Word
God’s Way vs. the Ways of the World
Believing Greenkill Conference Center Carr, Jesse 06/25/2019 06/25/2019
God’s way works in the face of what the Adversary does in the world. Things work out when they are done God’s way. This teaching looks at a couple of examples of people getting delivered God’s way juxtaposed with a believer who tried to do things his own way. The believers in Acts didn’t make contingency plans if things didn’t work out the way they expected when they carried out God’s business. We sometimes shrink from believing for much smaller circumstances than what Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego faced. The Adversary has been luring people with comfort and “more” since the Garden of Eden. In the Old Testament, Gehazi had seen God do miracles time and time again yet he still tried to meet his own needs. We’ve also seen the impossible done by God. God is able to care for us, so we do not need to do things the world’s way. We are not defined by the riches of this world, and we should not be easily tricked. We are fully equipped by God. Let’s believe and renew our mind to doing God’s work, not men’s work.
Believing the Word, Not Facts or Sense-Knowledge
Believing Integrity of the Word Greenkill Conference Center Hanan, Patrick 06/25/2019 06/25/2019
This teaching is about believing God’s Word over the facts or sense knowledge because God’s Word has been put to the test and has come up pure every time. Nothing has been tried like God’s Word has been tried. We should prove everything according to the Word of God. If it is not of God, then throw it in the trash. The Word of God is pure gold, and we do not need to keep the mostly pure around. A record about Ahab receiving counsel is shared to demonstrate that if something contradicts the Word, even if the vast majority of people agree, then it cannot be true. The Word is more true than any circumstances we have been in or will be in. Nothing shall be impossible with God so don’t let the devil tell you what is possible. Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego are shown as examples of people who walked with God even when they faced certain death. God comes through even if the facts get worse because the Word stays pure. We find out what we’re made of when the heat gets turned up. If what we believe is God’s Word, then it is going to be found pure.
touchstone
Believing vs. Fear
Believing Overcoming Fear Greenkill Conference Center Zolezzi, Steve 06/25/2019 06/25/2019
This teaching contrasts the results of believing and of fear. Fear issues in unbelief and defeats the promises of God. It prevents us from being the people we want to be. If we are afraid, we should replace that fear with the truth of the Word in our minds and take appropriate actions by acting on the Word of God. If Peter played it safe and stayed on the boat, he would never have been able to do the impossible and walk on the water. In the Old Testament, they were supposed to claim the Promised Land with believing. One record shows the children of Israel elevating the sense knowledge report over the promise of God, and then fear issued in unbelief. Fear and unbelief kept them out of the Promised Land. They could have gone in right away but instead wandered in the wilderness for 40 years. In another record, the people entered into the Promised Land because of believing. Today we don’t have the Promised Land, but we do have God’s promises. We are to claim what we have by believing just like the Israelites did with the Promised Land. We live by believing concerning the Son of God and his accomplishments. Get rid of fear and believe God instead.
Being Strong in the Things That Have Been Freely Given to Us
The New Birth Renewed Mind Sonship Rights Greenkill Conference Center Gilmore, Michael 06/24/2019 06/24/2019
This teaching looks at some of the things we’ve been freely given by God through grace as a result of the gift of holy spirit. Everything good comes from God, and His nature is to give. God wants us to know about Him and act on the Word that He’s given to us. All that we have today spiritually is based on Jesus Christ’s accomplishments. God was successful in giving us the things that He wanted us to have, and they are irrevocable. We’ve been transferred from darkness into the kingdom of His dear Son. We are not of the world; we are of God. We put off the old man and put on the new man by thinking the Word one thought at a time. We can tell ourselves that we are righteous, believe it, and then walk righteously. God wants us to take Him at His Word and know that we’ve been freely given holy spirit, mercy, grace, righteousness, peace, eternal life, redemption, all things that pertain to life and godliness, forgiveness, exceeding great and precious promises, gift ministries to the church, ministries of reconciliation, eternal consolation, and good hope. Let’s give great glory to our Heavenly Father by using what we’ve been given.
