How Jesus Christ Prepared Us to Walk in the Spirit

Jesus Christ’s Example Receiving the Holy Spirit and Manifestations Greenkill Conference Center Gilmore, Michael 05/01/2011 05/01/2011

Jesus Christ was God’s plan for bridging the gap between the natural man and the spiritual realm. In this teaching, we look at select examples in the Gospel of John in which Jesus Christ explained how holy spirit works and demonstrated how to see things spiritually. We also look at the example of Samuel when he first learned to hear from God by revelation, and we cover from verses in some New Testament epistles that highlight specifics about what the gift of holy spirit means for us.

Speaking the Word to Ourselves

Renewed Mind The Fellowlaborers’ House (2 Baier) Gilmore, Michael 12/30/2011 12/30/2011

This teaching is a good reminder to keep our minds on God’s Word and that God knows more than we do. God’s Word has a promise for anything we need; we can learn those verses and let them permeate our hearts and minds. We are often caring and patient with others, so let’s be patient with our own frailties too. As a practical exercise in applying what was taught, at the beginning, before the teaching began, each person was given an index card and was asked write something  on it that they “hated” about themselves. Then, at the end of the teaching, the teacher read what people wrote (without mentioning who they were) and the group all contributed verses that that person could apply to think God’s Word of him or herself.

Believing vs. Fear

Believing Overcoming Fear Greenkill Conference Center Gilmore, Michael 04/24/2010 04/24/2010

This teaching opens by looking at two sections in Mark where Jesus handles believing. It establishes the importance of our focus and firm reliance on God as well as making an active decision to believe. The teaching handles fear and it’s effects as the believers greatest enemy. We are reminded of our job to trust and seek and of God’s job to deliver and keep us safe. This teaching closes with the results of trusting God.

Trusting God

Practicing the Presence of God

Practicing the Presence of God Prayer Receiving the Holy Spirit and Manifestations Renewed Mind Greenkill Conference Center Gilmore, Michael 04/25/2009 04/25/2009

In this collection of verses and examples covering God’s presence in us as born-again believers, we learn about how God was with His people in the Old Testament and how we now always have access to Him. The teacher mentions ways for us to remind ourselves of God’s presence and specifically covers the spiritual reality behind speaking in tongues. We close by looking at examples from Psalms that describe God’s tenderness with His people.

Encouragement: How to Comfort a Heart

Leadership and Service Love Witnessing and Undershepherding Greenkill Conference Center Gilmore, Michael 04/14/2007 04/14/2007

This teaching looks at various usages of words translated “comfort” to show the things that bring true comfort. The contrast between genuine words of comfort and smooth, flattering words is presented. Michael states that anyone who knows any of God’s Word can bring comfort to people and exhorts them not to hold back in doing so.
