Our spiritual lives began with us believing in our hearts that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. This teaching looks at how God cares about what is in someone’s heart over there outward appearance and at what God considers a good heart. We are shown the example of David and Goliath to show how believing God is what matters in a situation and what God can do with someone who believes. We are instructed to make our hearts come to God’s Word.

If your priority in life is to avoid pressure and be comfortable, your life won’t bear fruit. We are warned not to let the Adversary deceive us into thinking that committing to God will make our lives harder; a good life comes from doing God’s will and walking in the spirit. We are to be honest about where we are, what path we are on, and what excuses we are making so that we can change our course by putting on the Word of God knowing that He will give us strength. The teacher instructs us to do things that will build and add to our lives because those are the things that will last, and when we go to God’s Word, be ready to do what it says. Like exercising our physical bodies, it may hurt and be unfun at first, but if you put in the work you will get results.
