Getting Out of Our Comfort Zones

Lifestyle of a Believer The Hermitage (Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ) Hanan, Patrick 05/03/2025

If your priority in life is to avoid pressure and be comfortable, your life won’t bear fruit. We are warned not to let the Adversary deceive us into thinking that committing to God will make our lives harder; a good life comes from doing God’s will and walking in the spirit. We are to be honest about where we are, what path we are on, and what excuses we are making so that we can change our course by putting on the Word of God knowing that He will give us strength. The teacher instructs us to do things that will build and add to our lives because those are the things that will last, and when we go to God’s Word, be ready to do what it says. Like exercising our physical bodies, it may hurt and be unfun at first, but if you put in the work you will get results.

Don’t Wait for Someone Else to Do It

Lifestyle of a Believer Witnessing and Undershepherding New Life Island (Upper Black Eddy, PA) Hanan, Patrick 08/17/2024

God gets things done by working in people, including us. This teaching emphasizes that being an ambassador is our job, so we should go and do it. Do the work with diligence; do it right and do it now. The teacher warns that there will always be a reason not to do the Word, but the reason will never be good enough. We are equipped so, when you see a need, run to take care of it. When God tells you to do something, run to do it. You will never regret doing the Word.

We Preach God and His Glory

Witnessing and Undershepherding Spruce Lake Retreat Center (Canadensis, PA) Hanan, Patrick 07/03/2024

This teaching was taught at a short, optional Morning Watch fellowship before breakfast.
The teacher gives a reading from 2 Corinthians and then goes through all of Psalm 96. We aren’t preaching ourselves but the truth, something of substance. Give credit to God for all He has done and praise Him. We are told to look to God instead of being discouraged by our faults and failings.
