A New Culture, Living as God’s Family

The Great Mystery The Inn at Stone Mountain Park (Stone Mountain, GA) Chatten, Bob 10/10/2021

This teaching looks at the phrase “one another” to find out what the culture of the Mystery was in the first-century Church. We learn that it look time for the believers to adapt to this new culture which affected everything they thought, said, and did. We see love, forgiveness, forbearance, and many other items were qualities of this new culture. We are exhorted to disrupt the world we live in once again by living according to the Mystery.

This sharing gives a high level summary of each teaching that had been shared at the 2021 Atlanta Fall Advance thus far. A story about a child being healed during the Advance is shared, and Erika Fiola and Christina Armstrong sing the song “I’m For You”.

Unity in Doctrine and Practice

Dealing with the Adversary Integrity of the Word Stone Mountain Inn Zolezzi, Steve 10/09/2021

This teaching explains why there is so much division among Christians and what we can do about it. The Adversary does not want the Word to move, so he causes division by blinding people’s minds. We also learn about how error in practice can lead to error in the Body and how error in doctrine can cause further doctrinal errors. Right practice prevents wrong practice. We are to practice the Mystery by walking in love, as it is love that binds the body. That love is more than being nice, we also should reprove and correct people when they are off of the doctrine.

Unity

The Unity of the One Body

The Great Mystery Stone Mountain Inn Scott, J.M. 10/09/2021

This teaching talks about the unity that the One Body is called to. Each of us has intrinsic worth to God, and we can each serve in a spiritual way. Our function in the Body may change through the years, but our value will never change. We are reminded that we must be willing to put up with a lot from one another and to give every bit of ability we have to keep the unity. We should not allow anger and frustrations to run our lives, but we are to instead walk in love and close the door on the devil.

The One Body

One Body

The Great Mystery Stone Mountain Inn Gross, Patrick 10/09/2021

This teachings covers our importance in the One Body. We learn that we need to make the effort to see the Christ in people since the new birth does not affect our thinking. We are exhorted to see past the things in people that bother us and to be big on patience and forgiveness. We are to be thankful for the differences among the believers since they help us function as a complete body. The Adversary is always going to be looking to break us up, so we need to take every opportunity to esteem one another highly.

The Mystery: The Wisdom of God

The Great Mystery Stone Mountain Inn Gilmore, Michael 10/09/2021

This teaching shows us the significance of the great Mystery. The rules and things in the Old Testament pointed to the Mystery; they were not just arbitrary rules. We learn that not only do we have a great hope ahead of us, but we are also spared from the wrath to come. We also learn that our righteousness no longer comes from works, but instead it comes from believing. However, we also see that as soon as 40 years after the Day of Pentecost all of Asia is turned away from Paul, and the Mystery once again becomes hidden. We are reminded that the Church is the display of the great purpose of the ages and to live the Mystery!
