Observe and Do
Overcoming Fear Greenkill Conference Center (Huguenot, NY) Carr, Jerry 06/26/2016 06/26/2016
In this teaching, Jerry covers God’s Word to Joshua after Moses’s death. It handles how vital it is to take an uncompromising stand on God’s Word, acting on it and applying what we have been taught about it. It teaches how trust, faith, and confidence issue in right believing which assures us of God’s love towards us, ridding us of condemnation, guilt, and fear which poison our bodies. Lastly, it covers God’s Word concerning putting on the whole armor of God.
Standing on God’s Word
Believing vs. Fear
Believing Overcoming Fear Receiving the Holy Spirit and Manifestations The First-Century Church Greenkill Conference Center Carr, Jerry 06/26/2016 06/26/2016
We are shown the transition of Peter and the disciples from being behind closed doors because of fear before the day of Pentecost to having full confidence, trust, and believing on the day of Pentecost after they received holy spirit. When they listened, followed and obeyed, their fear left. When we have no fear, we are able to manifest power, and it is the manifestations in operation that will bring people to fellowship. We are instructed to believe God, to please God, and help others believe God by seeing our example of believing.
Pray Without Ceasing – Close
Prayer Greenkill Conference Center Carr, Jerry 05/03/2015 05/03/2015
Jerry closes out the weekend by reading Psalm 139. He points out that God still talked to David and calls him a man after His own heart despite the fact that he killed a man. He shares about the miracle that occurred when he was healed because of the effectual, fervent prayers of the righteous, the believers, on his behalf while he was unconscious. We are told that God’s thoughts towards us are more in number than the sand in the sea and are precious; our thoughts of ourselves and others should be this way too because every individual in the Body of Christ is intricate and important. Lastly, Jerry sings “For You I Will Live”.
The Effectiveness of Prayer
Prayer Greenkill Conference Center Gilmore, Michael 05/03/2015 05/03/2015
Michael handles prayer being effective, not because of the prayer itself or the person praying the prayer, but because of God’s nature and because His Word gives us the assurance that He will answer. He covers the importance of praying with expectation without trying to figure out how God will answer. We are shown examples of people in the Bible praying for things God wants and of believers banding together in prayer for things. The teaching closes by telling us to have expectation from God and to pray for things God wants to happen so His Word can move.
Boldness in Prayer
Prayer Witnessing and Undershepherding Greenkill Conference Center Hernandez, Stephanie 05/03/2015 05/03/2015
Stephanie establishes God’s willingness and ability to display His strength towards us. She reviews the openness of speech we can have when we go to God due to Jesus Christ’s full payment. We are shown examples in the Bible of people praying to God publicly and boldly, and how bringing people along in our prayer life gives an opportunity for God to prove Himself.
Intercessory Prayer: Standing in the Gap
Jesus Christ’s Example Leadership and Service Old Testament Examples Prayer Greenkill Conference Center Chatten, Bob 05/02/2015 05/02/2015
This teaching is about praying with intercession, using our access to God, on behalf of the believers. It talks about us, as sons of God, standing in the gap with prayer for one another. Jesus Christ, Moses, and Samuel are given as examples as well as Epaphras’ laboring fervently in intercession for the believers in the New Testament. We are told that everything works together for good because of prayer in the spirit, which is speaking in tongues.
