A Saying to Live By – God First, Others Second, and Myself Third

Love The Great Mystery Elizabeth Avenue Fire House (Somerset, NJ) Armstrong, Joe 12/18/2004

This teaching reveals the proper order of a believer’s priorities from God’s Word. The Bible declares that the most important aspect of our lives is to seek God first. When our efforts are put into a real relationship with God, we will not be disappointed. Our next priority should be to help others. We determine that others’ needs are important, starting with the people in our vicinity. The teacher goes through the parable of the Good Samaritan as an illustration of helping others. Finally, we are willing to put our own needs last.

You Mean a Lot to God

We are to sing and make melody in our hearts to the Lord, thinking of the great things God has done for us and celebrating His kindness and compassion. It blesses God when we are thankful and joyful for all He’s done, showing our love for Him. We are precious to God, valued and prized, for we are His portion. We are what He wants. He knows everything about us and will take care of us because we, children that love Him with all our hearts, are very important to Him.

God Loved You First

Love Spruce Lake Retreat Center (Canadensis, PA) Armstrong, Joe 07/04/2023

This teaching shows God’s love for us in the sacrifice of His son’s life in order to give us life. We see God being the prime mover in coming to us, showing He loved us first. God loves people and doesn’t want them to perish. It was God’s will to have us as His sons. We perceive this love of God in Jesus Christ giving his life to pay a ransom for us to get us out of the hand of the adversary. We are to know and believe God’s love for us so we can come boldly to His throne of grace knowing that He will help us and freely give us what we need.
