This teaching is an exhortation to listeners to “think from the inside out”, to decide to change their thinking and to act according to the gift of holy spirit. The teacher declares that that gift contains the very nature of God, and she describes some aspects of that nature by breaking down 2 Timothy 1:7. She teaches that the spirit that God gave us is not a spirit of cowardice, but instead a spirit of power, power from God far exceeding all we could possibly consider powerful. The spirit enables us to love the way God loves and to control our minds to think like Jesus Christ. It’s a moment by moment decision, and with this nature of God in us, we have the potential to manifest more power, more love, and more controlled soundness of mind.

2014-03 Central Area Day in the Word

This was the first of two Days in the Word held in the Central Area of New Jersey in 2014. These events consisted of an afternoon with two teachings for adults with separate children’s fellowships going on at the same time, breaks to allow the believers time to fellowship together, refreshments, and a bookstore. It was an opportunity for the believers from fellowships throughout the Central Area of New Jersey to be together.

In this teaching, we see that the spirit we have been given from God is of power and love and a sound mind rather than fear. Fear is a product of negative believing, which is wrong believing, and if you are afraid, you are missing something in the true, spiritual realities. We are more than conquerors in all things, we are confident in God’s love for us, and we have the spirit of God in Christ in us at all times, so we don’t need to be afraid. The Word of God is the one thing that is necessary for us in our day-to-day lives above all other things. As we think the things of the Word, the things that are true, we can think good, sound thoughts and not be anxious about anything.
