In the context of God’s telling us He has given us the ministry of reconciliation, He details three aspects of it – that we are to be living epistles, we’ve been made able ministers, and we’ve been sent as ambassadors for Christ. Our ministry of reconciling others to God involves not only speaking God’s Word but also living the Word so others can see it in action, manifesting the gift of holy spirit which equips us for this ministry, and exercising our power and authority as sent ones from God to take the place of the absent Christ.

What Is or What Was Pentecost?

Although Christians have celebrated Christmas and Easter for centuries, the Church has paid little attention to Pentecost and many (if not most) Christians would have a hard time describing what Pentecost refers to and why it matters to us today. In this teaching we look at the Old Testament background of the Feast of Pentecost and tie it together with the special things God wanted to accomplish on the Day of Pentecost that took place shortly after Jesus Christ’s crucifixion, resurrection and ascension. These things ushered in a new spiritual administration, making available things God and mankind had been waiting for across thousands of years and making it “the birthday of the Christian Church”.

This teaching is about what true abundance is from God’s Word. Things that are true come from the true God. We get cheated out of the truth when we think that obtaining material riches is gain. We see that all true riches and true prosperity in the Bible are bound up in our true, alive, and spiritual relationship with God and in our fellowship with Him. That is where the “mega gain” is. We seek Him first and He adds the rest.
