Witnessing and the Manifestations
Receiving the Holy Spirit and Manifestations Witnessing and Undershepherding Greenkill Conference Center Zolezzi, Steve 04/27/2019 04/27/2019
This teaching is about the combination of speaking God’s Word and operating the manifestations. God has given us what we need to carry out the ministry of reconciliation: Word and works, preaching and power. The ministry of Jesus Christ was Word and works. He isn’t here anymore, but we are and are able to follow his example. God can help us when we are witnessing so we can help people believe God’s Word like Jesus Christ did with Nathanael. Jesus wasn’t out witnessing when he helped the woman at the well, but his operation of God’s power got her attention. We can do undeniable miracles in the name of Jesus Christ like Peter and John at the gate of the Temple. We cannot be tricked out of speaking the Word because of fear, discouragement, or not having enough time. We have the right to speak God’s Word with all boldness and power. Revelation, healing, power and deliverance – how big do we want to walk with God in our own life?
By Love, Serve Deliverance

This teaching looks at the relationship between love, deliverance, and service. There are three parts: (1) being a shepherd; (2) being moved with compassion; and (3) the Apostle Paul’s “manner of entering in” from the book of Thessalonians. Jesus Christ laid down his life so that we can have abundant and eternal lives. Are we willing to lay our lives down in service to help other people? Jesus Christ’s compassion led to God’s Word being taught, the sick being healed, and people getting fed. Paul loved and gave everything he had because people were dear unto him. This resulted in an explosion of God’s Word! Love combined with the Word of God brings deliverance and helps people walk worthy. We can be moved with compassion today towards people who need the love and power of God so they can get God’s best.
Parables

A parable is an extended simile, usually with only one point of comparison. There are some questions to keep in mind when reading parables: (1) what is the point of comparison? (2) who is the audience of the parable? (3) is there an orientalism that needs to be understood? and (4) what is the context? Examples are given to explain each key, including parables with one or two points of comparison, a review of parables with an emphasis on who Jesus Christ was speaking to, three parables about the joy in heaven over one sinner that repents, and the context of Matthew 22:14, “For many are called, but few are chosen.” We can have great joy when we help people with God’s Word because it helps people to change and brings them closer to their Heavenly Father.

This teaching reviews four specific types of figures of speech: metonymy, synecdoche, metalepsis, and idioms. Understanding these figures of speech helps us gain a greater appreciation for the detail of God’s Word. The definition and examples of each type of figure are given to help the listener reach a greater understanding of how these function in God’s Word. An explanation is specifically given of the idiom of permission. We are reminded of how important it is to speak God’s Word to people since God is a delivering God.

Dealing with the Adversary Deliverance Old Testament Examples Aldersgate Center Zolezzi, Steve 06/05/2005 06/05/2005
The battle is not ours, but God’s. This teaching looks at an outstanding record where Jehoshaphat seeks God for help in a life-threatening situation for him and his people. They receive instruction from the Lord, believe it, and then He delivered them out of their situation. God wants His people delivered. In the Old Testament, it was a physical battle; now, it’s a spiritual battle, but the battle has already been won. In life, there are disappointments, but spiritual, mental, and physical deliverance is available. We all have situations where we need help. Do we choose to focus on the situation, or do we choose to focus on God who is able to deliver? Christ won the victory, and we can triumph in Christ! All we have to do now is believe it. We are dealing with a defeated adversary. We don’t have to be afraid to love people or help someone along the way. We are triumphant in Christ. The victory is ours. We are free to enjoy life. Let’s believe “If God be for us, who can be against us?” and watch God bring His Word to pass because He is a God of deliverance.
