Two Responsibilities

Marriage, Family and Children Witnessing and Undershepherding Aldersgate Center Zolezzi, Steve 05/14/2000 05/14/2000

We have two responsibilities with spiritual knowledge as a Christian family – to know it and to share it. Teaching children God’s Word takes repetition and does not happen overnight. The Word of God gets passed down from generation to generation when it is lived and taught in the family. Timothy learned about believing God from his mother and grandmother. The first priority, even over football practice and ballet class, is make an effort to teach kids about the beginning of knowledge, which is God’s Word. Whether we are parents who want to pass along God’s Word to their children, children who need learn God’s Word to stand, or people in the body of Christ who want to speak God’s Word, there needs to be desire and effort to plant, water, and hold forth the Word of life to see outreach. As believers, it is our responsibility and joy to be able to share God’s Word with people and our children so they can walk worthy of God.

The Love of God in the Christian Family

Love Marriage, Family and Children Aldersgate Center Zolezzi, Steve 05/13/2000 05/13/2000

This teaching looks at the love of God within the Christian family. God set the standard for love, and He is the one who set up marriage. He set it up to bless man and to preserve the Word from generation to generation. It looks at the Christian family in the book of Ephesians where it appears in the context of walking in love and in light of the great Mystery. Husbands, wives and children all need to walk in love to be in step with God and each other. Love is the bond of perfectness, and it works in the family of God. Jesus Christ loved God more than he loved other people and thus never compromised on the Word. We need to love God first so we never compromise on the Word. The price we pay for loving is high, but the price we pay for not loving is more than what we can afford to pay.

Followers of Jesus Christ

Sonship Rights Greenkill Conference Center Zolezzi, Steve 06/27/2018 06/27/2018

This teaching is about how following Jesus Christ – the way, the truth, and the life – is the logical choice for our lives. It also looks at some examples of how people followed Jesus Christ in the Old Testament, the Gospels, and the current Grace Administration. Jesus Christ is God’s chosen leader of all of humanity; he beat the adversary, sin, sickness, and death and passed that victory on to us. We are to walk in his steps by believing and applying God’s Word. We lead people to Christ when we are following Christ and others follow us. We can bring deliverance to God’s people and make a spiritual impact with our lives when we believe in who we are in Christ as more than conquerors.

Prayer and Healing

This teaching explains that God and His Word can also deliver us from fear and anxiety. We see records in God’s Word where people prayed, believed God, and were healed. We are taught how important it is to intercede for people’s lives in prayer and to pray for more laborers to take care of people.

The Decision to Believe

Believing Jesus Christ’s Example Greenkill Conference Center Zolezzi, Steve 04/30/2017 04/30/2017

This teaching is about the decision to believe God’s Word. It looks at the example of Jesus Christ’s believing and how he expected others to also believe if they wanted deliverance in their life. Jesus Christ was a pioneer in believing as the author and finisher. He believed God’s Word all the way through and was tempted in all ways yet without sin. Jesus Christ isn’t on earth anymore, but we have all the power of God in Christ in us. The decision to believe God’s Word, including Christ’s accomplishments, is the most important decision we will ever have in our life as it has eternal bearings. We make the decision to believe every day. Fear issues in unbelief; we need to “be not afraid, only believe” when intimidating issues come up in life. The teaching ends with a look at Matthew 6 in regards to the decision to think in a carnal way (with worry, doubt, and fear) or in a spiritual way. We can change our heart by changing our thinking. Unbelievers seek to meet their own needs, but we as believers have a different lifestyle. We seek God first, and, in doing so, He supplies the rest. There is a lot of fear and worry in the world, but we can make the decision to believe God in our lives. We can choose to lead people out and be pioneers back to God.

One Accord

The First Century Church Greenkill Conference Center Zolezzi, Steve 05/01/2016 05/01/2016

This teaching is about the importance of unity in light of Acts 2:42-47. Great things happen in the Bible when people are of one accord. The believers stood united in Acts and walked with God which took the move of God’s Word to different continents and languages. If people are not united on right doctrine and practice then the Word doesn’t move. To put out a campfire, one thing you can do is spread the coals; we don’t want to be a campfire that goes out because we are separated. We need to stay unified, and then people who are out in the cold will want to join the bonfire. We are likeminded on the Word according to the risen Christ, and we can’t let guilt separate us from God or the believers. Love is proactive and helps to prevent practical errors which can lead to doctrinal error. It keeps things simple when God and His Word are the priority. If the Word is going to move, it’s going to take someone to move it. God moved in Christ Jesus; now it’s our move.
