Trusting in God and Not Ourselves

When we trust God more than ourselves, our lives will be magnificent. The teacher reviews some of the main words in Proverbs 3:5, trust, lean, heart, and understanding, and how they are used. When we trust God, we can be secure without fear. We’re not supposed to rely on our own insight and experience, but instead we train our minds to constantly remember that we need God. His wisdom is way beyond ours, and the result of trusting Him instead of ourselves is that God gets the glory. The teacher then shows examples of people who trusted themselves and of others who trusted God. No matter how crazy or commonplace situations are, we should always remember that we need God’s help and expect Him to give us wisdom.
