In this chapter that closes out the doctrinal side of the Book of Romans, we see that every man is dead in trespasses and sins but God reveals how the saved sinner is justified. The old man is reckoned dead. There is no judgment for the believer. There is no separation from God. Man starts in Romans in a state of ruin. Then he is dead with Christ and risen with him, made an heir of God and a joint-heir with Christ.

This teaching covers the conflict the born-again believer has on the inside due to being dead to sin by the new birth and yet still having sin in him due to the old man nature. This section of Romans deals with how to walk in newness of life, enjoying freedom from sin by believing and rendering paralyzed the old man nature.

This teaching handles Romans Chapter 5, showing the justice of God in giving His son Jesus Christ as the perfect substitute for mans plight. It handles why we need to be reconciled back to God and how we received our reconciliation. A comparison is made between the “first Adam” and the “second Adam” – Jesus Christ. The first Adam brought sin nature and spiritual death, while the second Adam brought the new nature of justification, spiritual and eternal life. The sharing closes with believing God’s Word about ourselves and others in order to really live the Mystery and love and help each other.
